KTA was founded by Kyle Twitchell in September 2018. KTA is a structural engineering firm that is headquartered in New York, NY. We pursue projects where we can apply our structural expertise to all facets of your project, whether this is structural design, façade consulting, special inspections, construction administration, forensic analysis, adjacent property representation, and contractor support. Since our founding, KTA has taken the value stance of approaching all projects as an architectural engineer. Working with all the stake holders on the project to collaboratively aim towards a finished project that everyone can be proud of. Above all else, we also keep in mind that the structures, buildings, homes and spaces, created through our work play a deep/impactful role in people’s lives.

New Construction accounts for 60% of our entire workload. The remaining 40% is focused on renovations and retrofits to existing buildings.

KTA’s engineers have past experience in the following types of work:

 
  • Residential – Extensive experience with single family residences, from brownstone renovations, new wood structures to high-end residences. Multi-family residences for developers and affordable housing.

  • Institutional work - elementary, secondary, university, religious and community facilities of all kinds.

  • Government – From Federal, State and City, down to local municipalities, working on office buildings, logistics facilities, firehouse, police stations, courthouses and libraries.

  • Embassy – Embassies for both the US and other Nations.

  • Healthcare – New construction of facilities, both in-patient and out-patient, surgery centers, ambulatory, and laboratories. In addition, providing design services for MEP modernization, retrofits and facility maintenance, support of medical shielding required by cancer centers and radiology equipment.

  • Façade and Building Envelope – Design of new facades (glass, stone and brick) and evaluation of existing conditions to provide repairs.

  • Commercial – Mixed use facilities, retail stores, banks, and restaurants. From white box fit out for the new tenant to reviewing tenant proposal’s to the landlord.
